Everything on Permitted Pursuits is general information about rules published by government agencies. It is not legal advice and doesn't create any professional relationship. Rules change, local closures happen, and a posted sign or a ranger's instruction overrides anything we say. Read our Disclaimer and check the agency contact on each page before you go.

Each page shows the date its rules were last checked and the primary sources they were checked against. We work to keep pages accurate but can't guarantee that they are complete or current.
